Sensory Circuits

At Creative Activity, we are committed to designing and delivering sensory solutions that transform learning environments for students with diverse needs. We have had the privilege of working with Sandelford Special School on a number of projects, helping to create engaging and inclusive spaces that support sensory development and well-being. Our most recent collaboration saw the installation of a Senso Cube and a Sensory Circuit, enhancing the school's ability to provide tailored sensory experiences for its students.

At Sandelford Special School, we have worked on several projects aimed at enhancing sensory experiences and supporting students with sensory processing needs. Most recently, we installed a Senso Cube in the nursery class and a Sensory Circuit in the school corridor. These solutions were designed to create accessible, effective regulation spaces that fit seamlessly into the school’s daily routine.

South West Acute Hospital in Enniskillen has redefined patient care in its Emergency Department (ED) by introducing a state of the art sensory room. This initiative, which recently won an award for "Low Cost High Impact" at the Design in Mental Health 2024 awards, showcases the transformative potential of sensory spaces in healthcare settings. This case study explores the collaborative efforts, challenges, solutions, and outcomes of this project, highlighting the critical role of sensory environments in enhancing patient well-being.

St. Columban’s Primary School in Kilkeel has been a pioneer in creating inclusive learning environments. Over the past two years, they have collaborated with Creative Activity to develop state-of-the-art sensory facilities to support children with diverse learning needs. This case study explores the journey, challenges, solutions, and outcomes of this transformative project.

Early Learning Montessori, identified the need to further improve their outdoor facilities, particularly due to the recent addition of their new afterschool club. The school sought to create a playground that would be inclusive and cater to all age groups, ensuring that children could enjoy the space regardless of their age.

Sensory Circuits aim to assist children with sensory processing, to help regulate and organise their senses and are extremely effective in a school setting. Each Sensory Circuit is made bespoke to fit the space and is very popular for school corridors helping to create a bright, fun and purposeful space.
